The Island of Ischia
The charm of the island between ancient and modern
The largest of the Gulf islands is the perfect destination for a relaxing holiday and wellness retreat, without giving up the pleasures of eating and having fun.
Ischia is a diverse geographical area, as well as a cultural one, which brings together six municipalities, each with a well-defined character, each to be discovered. The past and present intertwine in the streets of the historic centres of the island: aristocratic palaces, churches, monuments, as well as shopping streets, modern spas, restaurants and nightlife venues.
The cultural events of the historic centre of Forio and the ancient village of Ischia Ponte are not to be missed. Visit the Aragonese Castle and the Tower of Guevara. Fans of seafaring atmospheres will appreciate the village of Sant’Angelo in Serrara Fontana.
For a complete wellness retreat, we recommend a visit to one of the island's many hydrothermal parks, the largest of which, the Poseidon, is located in Forio’s Citara Bay. You will be spoiled by the many choices of beach resorts: The island offers several sandy beaches, with amenities available for rent, as well as free beaches.
The nightlife is very active all year round; the top spots for night life are on the Right Riviera (Riva Destra) by the port of Ischia and the Coast of Forio.
